Not all brides dream of walking down the aisle in a dress with a long train. Firstly, it gets dirty quite quickly because the hem is dragged along the ground and often rubs against your shoes. Secondly, it is uncomfortable: there is a risk of tripping and falling or damaging the fabric with heels. All of this can be avoided if you choose a mini dress (not to be confused with ultra-minis, as they look vulgar).

In the material of OBOZ.UA, we have prepared a selection of celebrities who got married in short dresses - and we were right. Take a closer look at the styles. Perhaps one of them will appeal to you: if not for a wedding, then for a cocktail party.

1. Mia Farrow

In 1966, American actress Mia Farrow married her colleague Frank Sinatra in Las Vegas. She wore a two-piece milk set: a skirt with a bow at the waist and a double-breasted jacket with three-quarter sleeves. This outfit was harmoniously combined with the celebrity's iconic pixie hairstyle.

An interesting fact: the ceremony lasted only 15 minutes. During this time, the couple exchanged vows, posed for the cameras, and signed their wedding license.

2. Sharon Tate

American actress and model Sharon Tate and film director Roman Polanski legalized their relationship in 1968. For the wedding, the bride wore a dress with puffed sleeves and a stand-up collar in a playful babydoll style, made of silk fabric with a moiré pattern. Sharon complemented her outfit with white tights, a floral headband and satin shoes.

3. Audrey Hepburn

In January 1969, British actress and model Audrey Hepburn wore a pale pink Givenchy minidress to her wedding to Italian psychiatrist Andrea Dotti. No decorations: just dense fabric, a fitted top with a stand-up collar and long sleeves flared at the bottom, and a slightly loose hem. To add sophistication to the look, Audrey styled the outfit with milk-colored silk gloves, a pale pink scarf and laconic ballet flats.

4. Cindy Crawford

In 1995, American supermodel Cindy Crawford and businessman Randy Gerber exchanged vows in the Bahamas. The star bride wore an ivory mini dress by John Galliano. The dress was both restrained and elegant: it was made of silk and decorated with lace. As for the shoes, Cindy decided not to wear them, so she walked down the aisle barefoot along the seashore.

5. Keira Knightley

In 2013, the English actress and model Keira Knightley and her fiancé, rock musician James Wrighton, had a modest wedding. The couple got married in the small French town of Mazan, inviting only 11 guests to the celebration. The bride shone in a short gray bustier dress by Chanel, which she complemented with a white tweed jacket by Karl Lagerfeld and pink and gray ballet flats. Instead of a traditional veil, she wore a floral headband.

6. Paris Hilton

In 2021, American fashion model and actress Paris Hilton and her lover, businessman Carter Reum, had a lavish wedding. During the three days of celebrations, the celebrity changed 5 dresses, one of which was a silk mini dress with a floral neckline and a puffy hem by Oscar de la Renta. The bride completed this look with lace pumps and massive diamond earrings.

7. Kourtney Kardashian

In 2022, in the picturesque village of Portofino (Italy), American fashion model and actress Kourtney Kardashian walked down the aisle with American musician Travis Barker. The bride wore a short bustier dress decorated with lace by Dolce & Gabbana. She complemented her outfit with opera gloves, white pumps, and a spectacular veil with a floral pattern and an image of the Virgin Mary.

Earlier , OBOZ.UA wrote about royal brides who did not wear tiaras to their weddings. For example, Princess Grace Kelly of Monaco replaced the traditional decoration with an 82-meter veil with the so-called Juliet's chip (a small mesh cap decorated with pearls).
