So, she formulated five key mistakes that women have been making for years, making their look overloaded and visually aging themselves. Shira also advised how to correct these mistakes.
Applying dark brown eyeshadow in the crease of the eyelid
Although it is believed that this can make makeup look more expressive this, technique leads to the illusion of a tired look. To open up your eyes and make your look fresher, use lighter shades of brown and blend the shadows with a fluffy brush a little higher than the crease of the eyelid. This will also visually enlarge the eyes.
Applying too-intense eyeliner
Many women like to draw intense expressive arrows. This technique peaked in popularity in 2016 and is no longer relevant. Shira suggests replacing such arrows with smoky brown eyeliner. This will help to visually lift the eye area without weighing it down and creating sharp contrasts.
Poorly blended blush
Where you apply a product can completely change the impression of your makeup. Especially when it comes to products that add volume and depth, such as blush. Often women apply them too low and blend them poorly. Try to apply the product not on the apples of the cheeks, but on the cheekbone and blend it properly.
Sculpting without contouring
Face sculpting products are often used to emphasize the cheekbones. But even a little too much product can make your makeup look "dirty" and the whole look heavier and more aged. Less is more when it comes to contouring, so instead of drawing a line under the cheekbone from ear to mouth, it's better to apply three or four dots in the direction from the cheekbone to the edge of the brow bone and blend them well. According to the expert, this will instantly tighten the face.
Wrong choice of lipstick
When choosing a lipstick, focus on two key factors: shade and formula. A product that is too pale and dries out your lips will immediately make you look older. This also applies to lipsticks, glosses, balms, tints, and any other related products. To "rejuvenate" your look, choose something bright and with a moisturizing effect.
