Pantone has named the main color of 2025
Pantone has announced "Mocha Mousse" as the color of 2025. The brown shade, which experts called a cross between comfort and glamor, has become the choice of the design community. Traditionally, the color of the year expresses a global mood, reflecting a collective desire in the form of a single, expressive shade.
"Mocha Mousse" confirms that cultural perceptions of brown are changing, writes the Washington Post. Historically, this color has rarely been seen as a marker of sophistication and wealth – it was often considered dirty or gray. But the spread of "quiet luxury" and the connection of brown with craftsmanship have changed its fate.

"We live in a time when so many serious things are happening, and at the same time we crave ease," says Laurie Pressman, vice president of the Pantone Color Institute. We want to feel satisfied... That's why this color has a feeling of lightness. Yes, it's brown, but it's not a heavy brown."
Experts believe that society has rethought the symbolism of brown.
Even the visual representation of a warm brown shade – a creamy whipped dessert in a luxurious glass dessert cup – is meant to convey a sense of weightlessness. A Pantone study of color associations confirmed this observation. "It's much more accepted now as a luxury color, like a nice pair of brown shoes or a lacquered floor in an apartment that has a nice sheen," explains Leatrice Eiseman, the company's CEO. "It really creates a sense of cozy presence, but it's luxurious on the one hand and very natural on the other.
