It really works: when to wear perfume to make it last longer
Perfume is the best way to create a perfect look, even if you don't wear makeup or keep your clothes as simple as possible. But sometimes their durability is disappointing: the scent fades in 2-3 hours. Is there anything you can do about it?
Experts say that your favorite scent will stay with you all day if you apply it correctly. OBOZ.UA has collected some of their most effective tips.
Start by taking enough time to carefully study your perfume. As a rule, they contain three levels that reveal themselves one by one. You feel the top notes immediately after applying the fragrance - this stage lasts about 15-20 minutes. Then comes the middle notes, the most intense part of the perfume pyramid. They will envelop you for 2-8 hours. And finally, the base notes open. They appear when the heart notes subside. In some perfumes, the base remains noticeable even for several days.
Each of these stages can be maximized by applying the fragrance to damp skin. The best time is immediately after a shower. The moisture that the skin gradually absorbs will also help to better retain the fragrance molecules. So apply your favorite eau de toilette right after you get out of the shower in the morning.
Applying a moisturizing lotion or body milk will also help to retain the scent longer. But choose an odorless product so that its scent doesn't compete with your perfume and distort its perception.
Keep in mind that the scent spreads best in warm air. So, if you want to make it the most intense, apply the perfume to the warmest areas of your skin. Usually, you can easily feel the pulse there - the area behind the ears and on the neck, wrists, elbow bends, etc.
