Forget about them: 5 popular summer wardrobe mistakes

Darya SkubLady
These are fashion mistakes that disrupt the body's proper thermoregulation.

What should your clothes look like in summer, when the sun is baking you? Open, in light colors, and made of natural fabrics? Not quite: everything is correct, except for the first one. You need to hide your body from aggressive rays. To do this, wear light-colored midi- or maxi-length, straight or loose-fitting clothes made of linen, cotton, cambric, georgette, or satin. They are highly breathable: this will better protect you from burning and overheating than bare skin.

What things and combinations should you avoid in summer to feel comfortable and look stylish? Find out in the OBOZ.UA article.

1. Dresses made of translucent fabrics

When choosing a dress for the summer, pay attention to the cut, length, and whether the underwear is visible through it. For good thermoregulation, the product should be midi or maxi in length, the cut should be A-line, straight, loose, or Empire style, and the fabric should be natural and opaque. Passers-by do not need to know what kind of bra or panties you are wearing: it will look vulgar, provocative, and inappropriate. Wear translucent clothes at home or while relaxing on the beach.

2. Thick denim

Wearing tight denim in the hot season is not the best solution. First, it will make you uncomfortable and stuffy. Secondly, denim pants, shorts, skirts, dresses, or shirts, especially in dark colors, will look out of place in a summer wardrobe. Dense denim practically does not breathe, so replace it with things made of cotton, linen, viscose, or in the crochet technique, which has become popular in recent years.

3. Clothes that are too tight

Do you want to emphasize your figure with a silhouette dress, jumpsuit, or leggings and a ribbed top? No problem! But we advise you to wear them in the evening or when it's cool. The reason is that they make your body steamy, which can cause overheating. For hot weather, straight, semi-loose, or oversized cuts are suitable.

4. Short top and mini

In a crop top and mini-shorts or a short skirt, you risk looking vulgar because you expose your stomach, arms, and legs at once. In addition, such an outfit (especially if you forgot to apply a high-quality SPF cream) increases the risk of overheating and sunburn. Just one fashion trick will help you avoid fashion embarrassment: wear a loose-fitting shirt made of natural fabric over your top and you'll feel more comfortable right away.

5. High-heeled shoes

On hot days, you should not wear shoes or sandals with excessively high heels (more than 5 cm). This puts extra stress on your feet and legs, which can cause swelling. Instead, choose low-heeled or low-platform shoes. These can be mules, slides made of natural materials, textile sandals, or flip-flops.
