Better to avoid them: stylists named 5 prints that add age to women
At any age, a woman wants to look good using different prints in her clothes. However, stylists emphasize that prints are very changeable, as they quickly enter and exit the trend cycle.
However, there are some patterns that always look bad, despite fashion trends. Among the prints that visually add age to women, stylists distinguish abstraction and large flowers, Bestlifeonline writes.
Abstract prints
Elizabeth Kosich, a certified image stylist and founder of Elizabeth Kosich Styling, says that abstract prints should be used with extreme caution. And older women should avoid them altogether. "Abstract motifs tend to have bold shapes, scales, and colors that quickly overwhelm and overshadow the wearer," Elizabeth emphasized.
Ditsy prints
Ditsy is a floral background with small flowers. It is often used in children's clothing, as well as on sheets and blankets. However, this delicate print looks inappropriate on respectable ladies. "A cute and innocent motif is suitable for young people and girls, but it is not suitable for the image of an adult. If you like flowers, choose a pattern in the middle range," Elizabeth Kosich advised.
Geometric prints
Geometric patterns are large and bright. According to stylists, with age, a person's contrast softens and bold patterns with geometric elements are better not to use in your wardrobe.
"Clear shapes and angles can seem too sharp, and color combinations are often more intense and contrasting than our own. When this happens, it can make people not see your traits, but only those that you have in your clothes," Kosich warned.
Big flowers
Yenia Hernandez Fonseca, stylist at Margo Paige, says that similar to micro florals, large-scale prints can also have an aging effect, especially prints with a vintage or overly saturated aesthetic. "Large florals can create a visual clutter effect that can appear dated. Also, large floral prints create a more conservative or traditional look that can visually make you age in a few years," the stylist emphasizes.
If you still love large-scale floral prints, Hernández Fonseca suggests combining them with more modern accessories, such as jewelry, a bag or a jacket.
Baroque prints
The fashion gods Gucci and Versace made baroque prints popular, so they can be seen frequently in clothing stores around the world.
"Baroque prints are overly embellished, especially with repeating patterns. If you are a fan of baroque, choose an asymmetrical print with a balanced space around the object to achieve a better composition," said Hernandez Fonseca.
