Famous Ukrainian designer Andre Tan showed trendy wardrobe elements that have returned to us from the 2000s era. Although the designer noted that the Y2K style can hardly be called retro, it is still associated with the past.
The expert explained why the trends of that time broke into modern trends. "Firstly, everything new is well-forgotten old, especially for zoomers and alphas," he shared in stories, adding that this is how modern fashionistas try on their parents' lifestyle. "Secondly, we shouldn't forget about nostalgia. There are many millennials among Y2K fans. Their youth was spent in all those Britney Spears scandals and the aesthetics of those years." Andre Tan showed what attributes of the 2000s are worth paying attention to.
Cargo pants
"Complemented by huge outer pockets that can hold even a smartphone, because in the 2000s the trend was also for small handbags, which can hardly fit anything," the designer writes.
Mini skirt
According to the fashion designer, "the smaller the better". Some models of the 2000s looked more like a belt than a skirt. "I think everyone remembers this aesthetic," the story says.
Racing bombers
"In the noughties, not only glamorous socialites but also street racers were at their peak of popularity. The image of a pilot girl is a bright leather jacket with patches and a round collar with a rivet," Andre Tan explained.
Low landing
"And the kind where the bottom barely stays on the hips," the designer added.
