A professional makeup artist reveals five ways to apply concealer that you might not have known about

Concealer is an indispensable makeup item that every woman should have in her makeup bag. This concealer helps to hide various imperfections that the foundation cannot cope with.

Few people know, but the product can be used for other purposes as well. Estée Lauder professional makeup artist Patrick Lorentz told the French magazine Cosmopolitan five ways to apply concealer that many people did not know about.

Correct the wrong shade of foundation

If your cream is too dark, it doesn't mean you need to run to the store for a new one. A concealer will help to correct the situation.

"To do this, apply it to the middle of the forehead, the upper cheekbones, the bridge of the nose, the Cupid's arch, and the chin. "We also add a little concealer in the jaw area and blend it with a brush or sponge," the makeup artist advised. "This allows you to contour a too-dark foundation and brighten the rest of the face.

Too bright blush

If you overdid it when trying to make your cheeks pink, there's no need to panic either. The concealer will soften the color.

"Just apply two or three dots on top of the blush and then blend with your finger to get a beautiful, supernatural color," Lorentz said.

For Smokey eyes

This makeup look is very popular, but if you are not used to it or don't know how to do it, it is quite difficult to achieve the effect. Lorentz advises using concealer to make it easier.

"I mix a black pencil with a little concealer on the back of my hand and then apply this creamy texture with my finger on the mobile eyelid," he advised. The look is completed by blending the crease of the eyelid with a brush and applying eyeshadow."

To soften the color of lipstick

If you're wearing a lipstick that's too dark, concealer can help soften the shade.

"Simply mix it with a little concealer to soften the shade," he advised, "then blend it with your finger for a natural effect.

Precise contours

Lorentz recommends blending concealer on the brow bone after applying makeup to correct it. The same can be done around the lips and in the area of the arrows on the eyes.
