A salad that everyone, both women and men, can cook is herring under a fur coat. It is because this salad is easy to prepare - you just need to boil the vegetables, grate them, and add the herring. It is worth noting that the dish can be made in different ways: with cheese, garlic, and eggs for a bright taste.
Chef Tetiana Litvinova shared a recipe for a delicious herring under a fur coat and revealed 3 secrets of a successful dish on her YouTube channel.
Secrets of cooking:
1. Vegetables are best baked.
2. Add finely chopped green onions to the herring.
3. To make a delicious lean mayonnaise without eggs, replace them with the liquid from canned legumes, such as corn.
Ingredients:
- herring - 1 pc
- beetroot - 150 g
- carrots - 250 g
- potatoes - 250 g
- green onions - 2-3
For the top layer:
- beets - 150 g
- agar-agar - 1 tsp
- water - 1 tbsp
Lenten mayonnaise:
- canned peas liquid - 150 ml
- sunflower oil - 260 ml
- mustard - 1 tsp
- honey - 0.5 tsp
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp
- salt - 0.5 tsp
- pepper - 0.5 tsp
- avocado - 1 pc
Method of preparation:
1. Bake the vegetables at 180 C until tender. Then peel and grate. For the top layer, put 2 tbsp of grated beets in a saucepan with agar-agar and water and bring to a boil. Put on the bottom of a suitable salad bowl and refrigerate.
2. Remove the herring bones and cut it into cubes. Add finely chopped green onions.
3. For the mayonnaisk, beat the liquid from the canned peas, oil, mustard, honey, pepper and avocado in a blender until smooth.
4. Assemble the salad, alternating vegetable layers with fish and mayonnaise.
5. Put the salad in the refrigerator for several hours.
