For borscht and instead of bread: quick homemade cabbage and egg pie
Pie is a very original and versatile homemade pastry. It can be made with both sweet and savory fillings, eaten instead of bread, and served as a first course.
Food blogger Varvara with the nickname valerikiry shared a recipe for a quick cabbage and egg pie on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
Dough:
- eggs - 2 pcs
- kefir - 400 ml
- flour - 250 g
- soda - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1 tsp
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- vegetable oil - 2 tbsp.
For the filling, you can use mushrooms, ham, meat, minced meat, eggs, and tuna. In this recipe, it is cabbage and eggs.
Method of preparation:
1. To prepare the batter, mix all the necessary ingredients: eggs, kefir, baking soda, salt and sugar. Stir well.
2. Then add flour and oil. Stir to avoid lumps.
3. For the filling, chop and fry the cabbage and cut the hard-boiled eggs.
4. Pour half of the batter into the mold, then the filling, and then the rest of the batter on top.
5. Bake the cake at 180 degrees for 40 minutes. Enjoy your meal!
