Cherry jam with chili and lemon zest: a recipe from Yevhen Klopotenko
Cherries are not only healthy and tasty berries, but also an ideal product for making jams, preserves, pie fillings, as well as campouts and ice cream. It is worth noting that they can also be frozen, canned, and made into delicious drinks.
Chef Yevhen Klopotenko shared a recipe for delicious cherry jam with chili and lemon zest on his website.
Ingredients:
- cherries - 1 kg
- sugar - 600 g
- chili pepper - 10 g
- lemon zest - 1/2 pc.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash and pit the cherries.
2. Transfer to a heavy-bottomed saucepan, cover with sugar, and let stand for 10-15 minutes to let the berries release their juice.
3. Chop the chili pepper and add to the cherries, grate the lemon zest, cook over medium heat, and bring to a boil.
4. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
5. Put the jam in sterile jars and screw on the lids.
