Borsch is a symbol of Ukrainian cuisine and a dish that every housewife knows how to cook. It's worth noting that there are a lot of borscht recipes, but it is always based on beets. Beans, herbs, fresh fish, canned food, mushrooms, prunes and even apples can add an original flavor to borscht.

Ingredients:
- gobies in tomato - 2 cans
- cabbage - 500 g
- potatoes - 3-4 pcs.
- carrot - 1 pc.
- beets - 1 pc.
- tomato paste - 1 tbsp.
- garlic - 2 cloves.
- salt, pepper, bay leaf - to taste
- oil for frying
- fresh herbs for serving
Method of preparation:
1. Peel the potatoes, cabbage, carrots, onions, and beets. Grate the beets and carrots on a coarse grater. Fry the carrots first in vegetable oil, then add the beets and cook for another 2 minutes, then add the tomato paste, cook for a few more minutes, then add the squeezed garlic, and lightly salt. Add a little water, leave to simmer under the lid and over low heat for 15-20 minutes.

2. Chop the cabbage, chop the potatoes randomly.

3. Pour water into a saucepan, add cabbage and potatoes. Then add the roast and canned fish. Add salt, bring to a boil, add bay leaf and let stand for 15 minutes under the lid.
