If you can't imagine your coffee, pancakes or porridge without milk but can't eat animal products, there is a great alternative - plant milk. All types of this product are absolutely safe, as they are simply a mix of seeds, grains and nuts.

1. Benefits of plant milk:

Vegetable milk is absolutely safe.
  • It does not contain lactose - milk sugar, which is often the cause of lactose intolerance.
  • It does not contain milk protein - casein, which can cause allergies, bloating and swelling.
  • It does not contain cholesterol at all.

2. Who should drink vegetable milk

Any person, regardless of their health status, can drink plant milk, unless, of course, they are allergic to at least one ingredients.

3. What to look for when choosing a store-bought product

How to choose high-quality plant milk.

Ingredients: only 3 ingredients should be part of a quality product - water, a paste of the product that will be most abundant in this milk, for example, almonds, and gum - an organic emulsifier that creates the texture of milk so that the product does not stratify. Sometimes salt and sugar are also allowed.

Color: good quality milk is white, while bad one is dark, deep yellow.

Structure: low-quality milk is fatter and thicker due to stabilizersm, while high-quality one has a more liquid structure.

Taste: a quality product has a more neutral, light taste, while a low-quality one has a rich taste.

How to make almond plant milk at home

Ingredients:

  • raw almonds - 200 g
  • water - 600 ml

Method of preparation:

  1. Pour water over the almonds and leave them for 6 hours so that all the harmful substances come out of them.
  2. Afterwards, you can peel the nuts, but you can also leave them as they are. However, the milk will have a bitter taste.
  3. Put 200 g of nuts in a blender, pour 600 ml of water over and beat well until smooth.
  4. Strain the mixture through a sieve and cheesecloth at the same time.
  5. It can be stored for up to 4 days.

The finished product can be safely added to coffee, cereals, pancakes, pies, as well as drunk on its own.
