Donuts without baking: how to repeat the legendary dessert at home
Bright, sweet, modern, and extremely attractive – all this is about donuts, a traditional American pastry that has become popular all over the world. And if you thought that you could only try them in a restaurant, you were wrong. After all, the legendary donuts can be easily prepared at home. You don't even have to bake them.
Food blogger Yuliia (juli_co.ok) shared a recipe for popular donuts on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour – 500 g
- warm milk – 250 ml
- eggs – 1 pc
- yeast – 10 g
- sugar – 80 g
- salt – 0.5 tsp
- vanilla sugar – 1 tbsp
- butter – 60 g
Chocolate glaze:
- cocoa – 3 tbsp
- sugar – 3 tbsp
- milk – 7 tbsp
- butter – 50 g
Pink icing:
- powdered sugar – 2 tbsp
- lemon juice – 1 tsp
- beet juice – 1 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. Preparation of the dough. Mix milk with yeast, and 1 tbsp of sugar and leave for a while to activate.
2. Add the egg, salt, the rest of the sugar, vanilla, and flour to the prepared dough. Knead the dough and add soft butter to it during the cooking process. Leave the finished dough for 50-60 minutes to rise.
3. Meanwhile, prepare the chocolate glaze. Mix cocoa, milk, and sugar. Bring to a boil and simmer for 2 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and add butter. Leave to cool.
5. Roll out the finished dough, cut out circles, and make holes in the middle of each of them.
6. Fry the donuts in a large amount of oil. Cool the finished donuts.
7. Finally, cover the donuts with chocolate glaze.
