Komarovsky named the only effective way to lose weight
Ukrainian pediatrician Yevhen Komarovsky explained why diets are not effective in the long run. According to the doctor, there are only 1% of people who manage to keep the weight off after losing weight by dieting.
After all, diets are only effective when you need to lose weight quickly for an event, such as a wedding or a vacation at sea. He spoke about this in an interview with the GORDON online publication.
Komarovsky believes that the main rule of losing weight is to understand that it is not a diet that will help, but only adjustments to lifestyle and habits.
"Anyone can lose a lot of weight in three to four months on willpower and character," Komarovsky says.
"A person starts exercising enthusiastically, going on a strict diet. But at the same time, he suffers, suffers. Yes, the weight will be lost. But not for long.
"When you feel hungry, you can beat your head against the wall, but your metabolism, your instincts say only one thing: 'This fool is doing something incomprehensible to me, he is depriving me of energy. You have to fight it." And there are two ways to fight it: slow down your metabolism and keep looking for fatty and sweet foods," Komarovsky explains. Therefore, by the time the diet is over, a person begins to regain the lost weight very quickly, and may even gain even more.
"You need to change your life, and life is not just about food. Life is also about sleep, physical activity, and emotional stress," the pediatrician explained. He added that during the war, when our lives are full of stress and lack of sleep, it is very difficult to fight overweight.
