Culinary expert Yevhen Klopotenko shared on his website an original recipe for delicious new potatoes with caramel, the taste of which will surprise you.
Tips from the cook:
1. It is best to choose small potatoes of the same size for this dish.
2. You do not need to peel the skin, just wash the potatoes well.
3. It is important not to overcook them because new potatoes cook very quickly.
4. For flavor, add garlic and bay leaf to the dish, as well as butter, which will help create a glossy surface on the potatoes.
5. It is best to take coarse salt, it melts slowly.
6. Caramelized potatoes should be eaten immediately, hot, as they will not taste as good after reheating.
Ingredients:
- new potatoes - 500 g
- butter - 30 g
- sugar - 30 g
- coarse salt - 1-2 pinches
- lemon juice - 1 tbsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Wash the potatoes.
2. Put in a saucepan and cover with water, cook over medium heat.
3. Then drain and leave to cool.
4. Caramel: heat a frying pan well, add 30 g of sugar, spread over the entire surface.
5. After it starts to darken, add butter, lemon juice, and stir.
6. When the butter is completely melted, add the boiled new potatoes, stir and make sure they do not burn.
7. Finally, sprinkle the potatoes with coarse salt, stir, and transfer to a plate.
Eat them immediately, hot!
