A tasty, easy-to-prepare and very quick appetizer that goes perfectly with croutons, white bread and even tartlets is a spread. They can be made from a variety of products, from fish to meat, herring, caviar, onions and cheese.

What to make a spread from

Cook Iryna shared a recipe for delicious spreads made from the simplest and most budget-friendly ingredients on Instagram.

Ingredients:

Base:

  • fillet or chicken thigh - 400-450 g
  • carrots - 120 g
  • onion - 120 g
  • olive oil - 1-2 tbsp.
  • nutmeg - 1/3 tsp.
  • butter - 60 g
  • salt and pepper - to taste

For one variant:

  • sun-dried tomatoes - 40 g

For the 2nd variant:

  • champignons - 130 g
  • vegetable oil - 1 tbsp
  • salt - to taste

Method of preparation:

1. Boil the chicken in salted water until tender. Coarsely chop the onion and carrot and fry in olive oil until soft.

2. Put the boiled meat and vegetables in a blender bowl, add butter, salt, pepper, nutmeg, and the broth in which the meat was cooked. Blend until smooth and divide into 2 parts.

3. Add finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes to 1 part.

4. Add finely chopped and fried mushrooms to the second part. Mix the two spreads and leave them in the refrigerator for a couple of hours to harden.
