Sweet fried pies with berries: what kind of dough to use

To avoid bothering with baking sweet pies, you can fry them. But to do this, you need to make a good dough so that it is fluffy and does not absorb oil. The best option is to use kefir.

The idea of making sweet fried pies with kefir was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Valeria with the nickname valerikiry. Berries are perfect for the filling.

Ingredients:

  • flour - 550 g
  • kefir - 400 ml (preferably warm)
  • vegetable oil - 3 tbsp
  • baking soda - 1 tsp
  • salt - 1 tsp.
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • eggs - 2 pcs.

Ingredients for the filling:

  • currants - 500 g
  • sugar - 100 g
  • starch - 25 g

Method of preparation:

1. Combine flour and baking soda, mix well.

2. In a separate bowl, mix the eggs, kefir, sugar, salt, oil and add to the flour or make a well.

3. Stir with a spatula and continue mixing with your hands on the surface.

4. The dough should be soft and elastic. Let it rest for 15 minutes under a towel.

5. Prepare the filling. I cooked currants with sugar and starch in a frying pan until thickened, stirring constantly.

6. Divide the pies into equal parts of 50 grams. Form circles and roll each one into a round layer - fill with the filling and pinch the edges well.

7. Fry in hot oil on both sides, placing the patties seam side down.

8. Put on a napkin.
