Spectacular cake in a frying pan: an idea shared by Liza Hlinska

At first glance, this cake seems like a real masterpiece of confectionery art. But in fact, it's a very simple dessert that doesn't even require an oven. All the cakes can be made in a frying pan. It's the perfect quick meal for your family celebration.

The idea of making a delicious cake was shared by the famous Ukrainian pastry chef Liza Hlinska (lizaglinskaya) on her Instagram page.

Ingredients for the cakes:

  • rice flour – 200 g
  • milk – 200 ml
  • eggs – 150 g
  • sugar – 80 g
  • butter – 40 g
  • baking powder – 5 g

Ingredients for the Plombir cream:

  • milk – 300 ml
  • egg yolks – 60 g
  • corn starch – 25 g
  • vanilla sugar or vanilla pod
  • sugar – 60 g
  • cold butter – 100 g
  • cream (30% fat content) – 200 ml

Ingredients for the syrup:

  • water – 250 ml
  • sugar – 130 g

1. Prepare the cakes in a frying pan: mix the rice flour with the baking powder, add the milk and make the mixture homogeneous.

2. Add the egg yolks and hot melted butter and mix well.

3. Beat the whites to peaks, adding sugar in portions.

4. Combine the base with the resulting mass.

5. Pour several ladles of dough onto a preheated frying pan, fry on both sides for several minutes.

6. Prepare 3 more cakes, cool.

7. Trim with a ring 18 cm in diameter.

Method of preparation of the cream "Plombir":

1. Mix milk and vanilla sugar or vanilla, heat.

2. Mix egg yolks and sugar, add cornstarch, mix.

3. Combine 1/2 part of the hot milk with the mass of egg yolks, sugar and starch, return it all to the saucepan.

4. Cook the cream, stirring constantly: the mass should boil for 1 minute.

5. Put the cream in a bowl, add butter, mix.

6. Cover with foil and leave in the refrigerator for 1 hour.

7. Mash the remaining cream and add whipped cream. Mix well.

Method of preparation of the syrup:

1. Mix water with sugar, bring to a boil and cool.

How to assemble the cake:

1. Put a detachable bottomless mold with a diameter of 18 cm and a height of 6 cm on a plate.

2. Put the cake on the bottom, grease it with syrup, put the cream.

3. Place the second cake on top and repeat with all the following.

4. Spread the cream on top, remove the mold and spread it on the sides.

5. Refrigerate for several hours.

6. Sprinkle with almond slices.
