Pumpkin porridge with milk: how to cook a flavorful dish
Pumpkin porridge is one of the best dishes on the fall menu. The most successful way to cook it is with milk and in combination with cereals: rice or millet. And aromatic spices such as vanilla and cinnamon will help to complete the dish perfectly.
Food blogger Victoria Kelbas (kelbas_v) shared a recipe for pumpkin porridge with rice on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- milk - 500 ml
- raw pumpkin - 200 g
- raw rice - 90 g
- sugar - 1 tbsp
- vanilla sugar - 1 tsp.
- salt - 1\4 tsp.
Method of preparation:
1. Pour the milk into a saucepan and bring to a boil, stirring constantly to prevent it from burning.
2. Add sugar, salt and vanilla sugar. Stir to combine.
3. Peel the pumpkin and cut it into cubes. Add to the milk.
4. At the same time, rinse the rice and add it to the milk. There is no need to stir. Just cover and cook for 30 minutes over low heat.
5. After 30 minutes, remove the lid and mash the pumpkin against the walls of the pan. Then turn off the heat, cover, and let it brew for another 15-20 minutes.
