Poltava is the birthplace of fluffy dumplings (or halushky) with various fillings. They are usually steamed in a special device or simply cooked on a cheesecloth. In summer, it is delicious to use seasonal strawberries for the filling.
The idea of making Poltava steamed dumplings with strawberries was published on the bude smachno razom culinary page on Instagram. The dough is made with kefir.

Ingredients:
- kefir - 350 ml.
- baking soda - 1 tsp
- salt to taste
- flour - 500 (as much as the dough will take)
- strawberries - 200 g
- sugar - 50 g
- vegetable oil for lubrication

1. Pour flour, a pinch of salt, baking soda and kefir into a deep bowl.
2. Knead a dough that does not stick to your hands.

3. Form a ball out of it.
4. Meanwhile, prepare the filling. Cut strawberries into small pieces.

5. Form a dumpling.
6. Roll out the dough and cut out balls with a glass.
7. Put strawberries and sugar in the middle of each ball.

8. Form the balls.
9. Steam the dumplings. For this purpose, you can use a double boiler, put them on cheesecloth, a sieve or a colander in a water bath.

10. Put the dough balls at a distance from each otherb because they will at least double in size.
11. Cook for 5-8 minutes (depending on size).
12. Pour strawberry sauce over.
