Pita bread with cream cheese, tuna and pickled onions: how to make a budget and basic appetizer

If you have pita bread, you can combine absolutely any food in it. It will always be very satisfying and tasty. And it will take minimal time.

The idea of making pita bread with tuna and pickled onions was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha Holovina (olha.holovina). You don't have to bake or fry anything.

Ingredients:

  • pita bread - 3 pcs.
  • cream cheese - 2-3 tbsp
  • spinach or lettuce - 5-6 leaves
  • tuna in its own juice - 1 can
  • pickled onions - 1 small one (the formula for pickling onions 1:2:3 is as follows: for one part of salt and sugar, take two parts of vinegar and three parts of water)
  • eggs - 3 pcs.
  • mayonnaise
  • salt

Method of preparation:

1. Spread the first sheet of pita bread with cream cheese.

2. Put spinach or lettuce leaves.

3. Cover with a second sheet of pita bread.

4. Put the tuna mixture on it (drain the juice) and chopped pickled onions. Optionally, add a teaspoon of mayonnaise to make the mixture creamy.

5. Cover with the third sheet of pita bread and put diced eggs mixed with onions or sour cream on it.

7. Twist everything up and refrigerate for a few hours.

8. Cut into portions.
