Method 1
Ingredients:
- Pork breast – 1 kg
- Water – 1 liter
- Garlic – 1 pc
- Bay leaf – 4 pcs
- Salt – 4 tbsp
- Ground black and red pepper, black peppercorns – to taste
Method of preparation:
- Pour water into a saucepan, add salt, all kinds of pepper, and bay leaves.
- Wash the pork breast and cut it into pieces.
- As soon as the mixture in the pot boils, add the lard. Bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to low and cook for another 5 minutes.
The process of pickling lard with onions
Method 2
Ingredients:
- Lard – 500 g
- Sugar – 2 tsp
- Water – 0.5 l
- Onions – 100 g
- Black peppercorns – 5 pcs
- Bay leaves – 4 pcs
- Carrots – 100 g
- Ground bitter pepper – 1 tsp
- Garlic – 30 g
- Salt – 2 tsp
- Vinegar – 2 tbsp
Method of preparation:
- Dissolve salt and sugar in boiling water, add pepper, bay leaves, and carrots cut into slices. Bring to a boil.
- Add vinegar.
- Cut the bacon into small pieces.
- Cut the garlic into slices. Chop the onion in half rings.
- Put the bacon, onion, and ground black pepper in another saucepan and leave the mixture for 5 minutes.
- Pour over the marinade and let it brew.
