Italian focaccia bread with rosemary: recipe

Many people think that baking bread at home is very difficult and time-consuming. Smart Exotic Life will show and tell you how 15 minutes of work can turn into wonderful, flavorful bread.

My recipe is traditional, so the focaccia does not turn out flat, as it is often found in our Italian restaurants, but fluffy and tall, as it is all over Italy. The secret is to let the dough rise slowly in the refrigerator for about a day. So, let's get to it!

Preparation time 10 minutes.

Ingredients:

-2 cups (250g) white flour (sifted is better)

-1 teaspoon salt

-1 teaspoon of dry yeast

-olive oil

-A sprig of rosemary

-A pinch of coarse salt for the crust (Maldon salt for example, large salt flakes).

-a deep, thick-bottomed pan with a diameter of about 25 cm. (you can use baking molds)

Preparation:

Mix the flour, salt and yeast in a large bowl in which the dough will rise. Add 1 cup of warm water (mix boiling water and cold water to get the right temperature). Pour in the water, knead the dough (you can use a spatula, just to mix everything evenly), cover with a towel and immediately send to the refrigerator for 16-18 hours. You can also for longer, I had the dough and 2 days in the refrigerator, waiting for its time. Take the dough out of the refrigerator and let the air out of it by moving it with your fingers. We transfer it to a greased with butter, then olive oil mold (you can just olive oil) and let it rise now in the heat. Another 2-4 hours. When the dough has risen once again, watered with about 2 spoons of olive oil and with fingers make "brains" on its surface. As if massaging the dough to make crinkles. Sprinkle with coarse salt and rosemary (you can put fresh tomatoes on top, parmesan, etc.) and into a preheated oven-220 degrees for 25 minutes. When a golden crust appears on top your focaccia is ready! It should not be pale or heavily browned.

So without eggs, dairy products and spending only a couple of minutes on preparation on your table will appear the most wonderful Italian bread!
