How to make healthy marmalade at home: children will love it

Instead of store-bought sweets with dyes and sweeteners, it will be much healthier to offer children homemade marmalade. You can use delicious fruits and vegetables for it. And agar-agar is ideal for thickening.

The idea of making healthy marmalade for children was published on the Instagram page of nutritionist Kateryna Mazurova (kate_nutriciolog). It contains only natural ingredients.

Ingredients:

  • puree of baked pumpkin and apples - 250 g
  • agar-agar - 2 tbsp.
  • boiling water - 100 ml.
  • honey - 1-2 tbsp.
  • lemon or orange juice - 2-3 tbsp.
  • spices as desired (cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg)

Method of preparation:

1. Mash the baked pumpkin and apples with honey and spices.

2. Pour boiling water over the agar.

3. Leave for 10-15 minutes until completely dissolved.

4. Add the agar and lemon or orange juice to the puree.

5. Mix well.

6. Bring to almost a boil, stirring constantly.

7. Pour into molds and leave for several hours in a cool place until completely solidified.

8. If you don't have molds, you can pour it into any mold and cut it randomly after it hardens.
