Apple jam is a classic among sweet preserves. Its taste is familiar to us from childhood. But over time, even classic recipes change and improve, resulting in even tastier dishes.

Ingredients

  • Hard apples - 1.5 kg
  • Sugar - 1 kg
  • Citric acid - 1 tsp.

Method of preparation

1. Wash apples, cut in half and remove the core.

2. Grate on a coarse grater or with a food processor.

3. Cook in a thick-bottomed saucepan, preferably stirring with a wooden spatula.

4. First, put the pot with apples on the heat above medium and stirring constantly, bring to a boil.

5. Turn the heat to low and boil the jam for 2-2.5 hours.

6. Do not go far, because the jam should be stirred every 10-15 minutes.

7. After 1.5 hours after boiling add citric acid.

8. In the sterilized jars put hot jam, screw with lids and leaf until completely cooled.
