Hearty mushroom pie without dough: how to make a simple base

Mushroom pie is a very popular dish in Poland. Its peculiarity is that you don't have to knead the dough because it is made with ordinary potatoes that need to be boiled. Everything is baked quickly and it turns out delicious.

The idea of cooking a hearty Polish mushroom pie was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yulia (yuliia.senych). Add the dressing on top.

Ingredients:

  • boiled medium-sized potatoes - 10-15 pcs
  • chicken fillet - 200 g
  • mushrooms (chanterelles/champignons/porcini) - 300 g
  • butter - 40 g
  • onion - 1 pc
  • hard cheese - 150 g
  • fragrant herbs - thyme

Ingredients for the dressing:

  • eggs - 2 pcs
  • 33% cream or sour cream - 200 ml.
  • spices

Method of preparation:

1. Put the boiled and peeled potatoes in a baking dish covered with parchment.

2. Press down with a saucepan or plate to form the bottom of the casserole (you can use a pestle). The diameter of the mold is 26 centimeters.

3. Fry the fillet in butter until golden brown.

4. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

5. Put the fried fillet and mushrooms on top of the casserole.

6. Pour cream, whipped with eggs and spices, over.

7. Chop the onion and put it on top of the casserole along with grated cheese.

8. Add a few sprigs of thyme for flavor.

9. Bake at 190 degrees for 35-45 minutes.
