Czech kulajda soup: how to prepare this seasonal fall dish

Kulajda soup is a traditional dish of Czech cuisine. And it is best prepared in the fall as it is made with many healthy vegetables, herbs, and seasonal mushrooms. The perfect combination for cool evenings.

The idea of cooking Czech kulajda soup was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Maria with the nickname mashka_salei .

Ingredients:

  • potatoes - 600 g
  • wild mushrooms or champignons - 600 g (you can add some dried ones)
  • butter - 70 g
  • onion - 1 pc
  • flour - 4 tbsp
  • broth or water - 3 liters
  • sour cream or cream - 300 g
  • cumin - 1 tbsp
  • bay leaves - 2-3 pieces
  • mushroom seasoning (optional)
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • vinegar - 2-4 tbsp, depends on what you add - sour cream or cream (if sour cream, then use less vinegar)
  • sugar - 1 tbsp
  • boiled eggs - 4 pcs
  • dill - 1 bunch

Method of preparation:

1. Fry the onion in butter until golden brown.

2. Then add flour and fry a little more.

3. Pour the broth or water over it all, add potatoes and mushrooms.

4. When the potatoes are cooked, add vinegar, sugar, cream or sour cream, chopped boiled eggs and dill, boil for a few more minutes and you're done.

5. You can serve it with a poached egg.
