Cheeseburger pie: made from puff pastry

The best substitute for store-bought fast food is homemade pastries. Puff pastry is a great choice. For the filling, you can choose a variety of seasonal vegetables and home-made minced meat. This dish tastes very similar to a cheeseburger.

The idea of making a cheeseburger pie was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Angelina Platetska (_lina_sergeevnaa_).

Ingredients:

• yeast puff pastry - 1 kg
• minced chicken - 400 g
• onion - 1 pc
• medium-sized carrots - 1 pc

• garlic - 1 clove
• tomatoes - 3 pcs
• pickled cucumbers - 5 pcs
• hard cheese - 200 g
• ketchup, salt, pepper, egg (for greasing), sesame seeds.

Method of preparation:

1. Defrost the dough beforehand.

2. Cut the onion into rings and fry until golden brown.

3. Finely chop the carrots and garlic.

4. Combine the minced meat with carrots and garlic, add pepper and salt to taste.

5. Cut cheese, cucumbers, tomatoes into thin slices.

6. Roll out the dough with a rolling pin (it should double in size).

7. Spread the filling in the center: grease the dough with ketchup, minced meat, onions, cucumbers, tomatoes, cheese.

8. Cut the remaining dough on both sides into 1 cm wide strips and wrap them (overlap each other alternately on each side).

9. Cover the baking sheet with parchment and transfer the cake.

10. Leave it in a warm place for 40 minutes to rise. Brush with egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds.

11. Bake on the lower level at 160 degrees for 1 hour.

12. The dough can be rolled out immediately on parchment, so it will be easier to move it to a baking sheet. The cake is huge, so you can divide the portion by half and take 0.5 kg of dough.
