For children from 6 to 12 months, sauerkraut should be introduced gradually in small amounts and pre-soaked in water to minimize the amount of salt. At the same time, you should not offer children anything else that may also contain salt like bread, cheese, canned food, etc. on this day.

For children from 1 year, it is still advisable to soak cabbage before eating, but the amount of the dish itself can be increased. It is also possible not to soak cabbage, but in this case it will act as a spice or an addition to other dishes.
