2 non-trivial salad ideas: when you are tired of Olivier and Mimosa

Even the most delicious dishes tend to get boring over time. The same applies to salads, when traditional Olivier and your favorite Mimosa taste the same. In this case, you want something light, hearty and at the same time unusual in terms of taste.

The FoodOboz editorial team has prepared two recipes for unusual salads according to Delish magazine.

Grilled chicken salad with apples and cheddar cheese

Ingredients:

  • Chinese cabbage - 1 pc
  • honey - 1 tsp
  • Dijon mustard - 1 tsp
  • sherry vinegar - 2 tbsp
  • olive oil - 1/4 tbsp
  • kosher salt
  • pepper
  • apples - 1 pc
  • cheddar cheese
  • grilled chicken - 1 pc
  • pumpkin seeds - 1/2 tbsp

Method of preparation:

  1. Mix mustard, honey and vinegar in a small bowl. Slowly add olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  2. In another bowl, mix the chopped cabbage with the dressing. Add the chopped apple and chicken. Dice the cheddar and add to the salad.
  3. Garnish the salad with pumpkin seeds.
Steak salad.

Steak salad with spinach, pumpkin and blue cheese

Ingredients:

  • pumpkin
  • olive oil - 6 tbsp
  • kosher salt
  • black pepper
  • fresh thyme - 6 sprigs
  • steak - 500 g
  • sherry vinegar - 1 tbsp
  • honey - 1/2 tsp
  • young spinach
  • blue cheese

Method of preparation:

  1. Peel the pumpkin and cut it into medium pieces. Put on a baking sheet, season with salt and pepper and sprinkle with thyme. Bake for 20 minutes until golden brown.
  2. Season the steak with salt and pepper. Grill for 5-6 minutes on each side. Cool and cut into thin slices.
  3. Mix vinegar and honey in a bowl, add 4 tbsp olive oil. Season with salt and pepper.
  4. Mix spinach and pumpkin and season with dressing. When serving, top with steak and diced cheese.
