In the Soviet era, all birthdays were celebrated in large groups of friends. The home-cooked food was preferred. Some dishes were even traditional, and no feast was complete without them. These culinary masterpieces have become iconic, and they are still prepared today.

Ingredients:

  • cod liver
  • onion
  • eggs
  • carrots
  • potatoes
  • mayonnaise

Method of preparation:

1. Boil eggs, potatoes, carrots.

2. Make a small hole in the can and drain all the oil.

3. Finely chop the onion and scald it.

4. Put the salad in layers: cod liver, onion, mayonnaise, protein, grated carrots, mayonnaise, grated potatoes, mayonnaise, and egg yolk.

Fish cakes

Ingredients:

  • any fish (bream, crucian carp, carp, silver carp) ⠀
  • eggs - 2 pcs.
  • milk - 3 tbsp.
  • salt, pepper - to taste
  • flour for breading
  • oil for frying

Method of preparation:

1. Clean the fish, remove the insides, and wash thoroughly. Cut and prepare it for frying.

2. Salt the fish with salt.

3. Beat the eggs with a fork, add milk, salt, and pepper (and, if desired, finely chopped onion with a little flour).

4. Put a frying pan with oil on medium heat.

5. Pour flour into the bag and add one piece of fish at a time. Then add it to the batter and to the frying pan.

6. Fry on both sides until cooked under the lid.

7. Remove excess fat with a kitchen towel.

Cake ''Medovik''

Ingredients for the cakes:

  • eggs - 5 pcs.
  • honey - 1 cup
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • baking soda slaked with vinegar - 1 tsp
  • flour - 500 g

Method of preparation:

1. Beat eggs, honey, sugar, and baking soda with a mixer.

2. Add a glass of flour and beat again to make the dough look like thick sour cream.

3. Divide into 4 cakes.

4. Bake at 180 degrees for 10 minutes, depending on the oven.

Ingredients for the cream:

  • sour cream - 0.7
  • sugar - 250 g
  • vanilla sugar - 1 sachet
  • cherries in their juice - 0.5 can

Method of preparation:

1. Whip the cream into a fluffy, thick mass.

2. The cooled cakes grease with cream, put the cherries.

3. Leave for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.

Instead of cherries, you can use a banana, but you need to grease it with juice so that it does not turn black, as well as canned peach.
