The correct and incorrect use of drinks, food, and general behavior in establishments and at the table is something that will immediately "say" a lot about you without words. If you sit incorrectly, pick up, hold, and use cutlery, grab and bite bread, take fruit out of a glass with your hands, drink everything to the last drop, and this also applies to food, as well as holding a glass of fine wine or an exotic drink incorrectly, using a napkin incorrectly, and much more, all of this will immediately give you away and put you in a very unpleasant position.

TV presenter and etiquette teacher Olha Freimut shared some very useful tips on her Instagram and told us how to drink different drinks correctly so as not to embarrass yourself.

1. How to drink a Margarita cocktail correctly

To begin with, we note that this drink consists of tequila, orange liqueur and lime (or lemon) juice and ice. A prerequisite is that the edges of the special glass should be covered with salt.

Olha Freimut noted that you still need to know how to drink this drink, namely, not to lick the salt all over the edges of the glass, but to choose one edge and drink only there, without a straw.

2. How to drink champagne and wine properly, and most importantly, how to hold glasses

The expert noted that in no case should you wrap your hand around the glass – it's not only bad form, but also the thing that directly "says" that you simply don't know how to do it right.

Watch out for the "monster's paw" – don't grab the glass with your fingers outstretched.

Freimut added that, for example, a glass of red wine should be taken by the stem and as low as possible. This also applies to champagne.

"Glasses of red wine should also be held by the stem and as low as possible, and it's not even about the temperature of the hand, which heats the drink, but the fact that we often put perfume on our wrists, and if we hold the base of the glass with our hand, the smell will remain and it will interrupt the original flavor of the wine," the TV presenter said.

Freimuth also noted that it is absolutely forbidden to tip your head when drinking, as well as to drink to the last drop, which is extremely bad form.

The glass should not tilt more than 45 degrees when drinking.

The TV presenter also added that if you choose a cocktail and it contains berries or fruits, it does not mean that you should take them out with your hands and eat them. But if they are on the glass, you can.
