The most delicious homemade honey cake: how to prepare
Honey cake is one of the most popular cakes in Ukraine. This dessert is prepared for various celebrations, as well as for cozy family tea parties. The taste of such a culinary masterpiece at home is incomparable.
The idea of making delicious homemade honey cake was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Yana with the nickname viktoriia chui. Add cherry confit inside.
Ingredients for the dough:
- eggs - 2 pcs
- sugar - 150 g
- honey - 100 g
- butter - 100 g
- baking soda - 5 g
- flour - 400 g
Method of making the dough:
1. Mix eggs, sugar, honey and butter in a saucepan.
2. Put on moderate heat.
3. Stirring constantly, bring to a boil.
4. Add the baking soda, stirring well, and cook for another 30-60 seconds until a beautiful caramel color.
5. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
6. Add the flour and knead the dough. It will still be sticky, but you do not need to add more flour.
7. Wrap the dough in cling film and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours.
8. Divide the chilled dough into 9 pieces.
9. Roll out each one, cut out a cake 18 centimeters in diameter and bake at 180 degrees. They are baked very quickly
Ingredients for the cream:
- fat cream - 350 g
- sour cream - 350 g
- powdered sugar - 70-100 g
How to make the cream:
1. Beat cold fat cream with a mixer until soft peaks form.
2. Add cold sour cream and powdered sugar and mix for another minute.
Ingredients for the confit:
- cherries - 300 g
- sugar - 2 tbsp
- corn starch - 1 tsp
Method of preparation:
1. Mix everything in a saucepan .
2. Cook until thick, stirring constantly.
