Svitlana Fus told why you should definitely eat walnuts
Walnuts are valuable and necessary foods for the body, and can be called a real storehouse of vitamins, minerals and nutrients. They contain a lot of calcium, potassium, magnesium, iron, phosphorus and other minerals that the body needs, especially in the fall. In addition, they can be eaten both raw and dried, added to salads, desserts, pies, and made into healthy sweets.
Nutritionist Svitlana Fus shared on Instagram why walnuts are so healthy and how many you should eat per day.
The expert noted that it is best to eat them fresh, not fried, so they will be very useful.
Fus added that it is worth buying walnuts only in their shells, as already peeled ones can be oxidized and thus lose most of their beneficial properties and, moreover, lose their pleasant taste.
The nutritionist said that it is better to eat nuts without anything – without honey and salt, so they will be most useful.
"Some people avoid nuts for fear of gaining weight. Indeed, nuts are a high-calorie food – 690 kcal/100 g," added Fus.
The nutritionist noted that you shouldn't get too carried away with them, since they are quite high-calorie food, you can safely eat a handful a day.
The expert also added that this protective effect of nuts occurs if you consume 20 grams of them per day.
Fus reminded us that despite all the benefits of nuts, they are also a highly allergenic food.
