Pork knuckle in beer is a very caloric, fatty and heavy product despite the fact that it is quite tasty. Cooking this dish is not as easy as it seems. Firstly, you need to choose good, quality meat, and secondly, cook it properly.

Cook Anatoliy Dobrovolskyi shared a recipe for a delicious pork knuckle in beer, which will turn out very flavorful, on Instagram.

Ingredients:

  • pork knuckle - 1 pcs
  • carrots - 2 pcs
  • onion - 3 pcs
  • water - 2-3 liters
  • garlic - 4-5 cloves
  • celery - 5 stalks and root
  • salt - to taste
  • peppercorn pepper - 1 tsp
  • cumin - a pinch
  • bay leaf - 1-2 pcs
  • dark beer - 250-300 ml
  • raspberries or cranberries - 300 g
  • sugar - 2 tbsp

Method of preparation:

1. Wash and clean the pork knuckle well.

2. Put in a pot and fill with water. Add salt, onion, garlic, carrots, celery, peppercorns, cumin, and bay leaf and cook for 2 hours. Be sure to skim off the foam.

3. Transfer the meat to a baking tray, cover with foil and bake at 180-200 C for about 30 minutes.

4. For the sauce, pour 25-300 ml of beer into a saucepan, add sugar and berries and bring to a boil. Don't forget to mash the berries well with a spoon.

5. Strain the sauce through a sieve, take out the knuckle, remove the foil and bake for another 30 minutes. Take it out and brush with the beer sauce every 3-4 minutes.

The finished dish can be served with vegetables.
