Nutritionists told who absolutely should not eat garlic and why
Garlic is a rather heavy product, but despite this, it is also very useful. It helps to get rid of pathogenic microflora in the intestines, strengthens the immune system, and thanks to allicin, garlic can prevent cancer development. It's also hard to imagine many dishes without it, especially meat dishes.
Nutritionist Laurie Chang RD from the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University noted that garlic can and should definitely be consumed, but not for everyone for several reasons, reports Еatthis.

- heartburn
Nutritionists say that if a person has GERD – excessive acid reflux in the esophagus and is prone to heartburn – you need to be extremely careful with this product.

Garlic can both increase and decrease blood pressure, which can cause severe headaches.
- diarrhea and nausea
If you eat it on an empty stomach and more than three cloves a day, you may experience severe nausea and even stomach cramps. You may also experience increased gas and diarrhea.
But at the same time, a report published in Experimental and Therapeutic Medicine found that garlic extract can fight some cancers, and heart disease, and prevent dementia due to its unique antioxidant properties.
