Nutritionists told what foods are dangerous to eat at night
If you're still thinking about whether or not to eat at night, most nutritionists will unanimously tell you no, especially if you eat and go to bed right away. This is extremely harmful to the body because it will "work" all night and, as a result, you will get swelling, heaviness and fatigue, and feel unwell in the morning.
Janice Jibrin, MD, a health expert and adjunct instructor at Georgetown University, said that nighttime snacking can be the main cause of serious health problems and named a list of foods that are actually dangerous to eat at night.
1. Fried, smoked meat
Jibrin recommends staying away from "charred or smoked meat, poultry, or other animal protein of any kind." It is best to eat baked meat, cooked, but not overnight, the best time for such food is morning, lunch.
2. White rice
Nutritionists say that it is better to avoid this cereal because it is processed.
3. Chips
This is an incredibly unhealthy product that contains a lot of fats, spices, and various chemicals. It is better to give them up altogether, not just before bedtime. Vegetables and fruits can be a great alternative.
4. Sweet carbonated drinks
They contain a lot of sugar and flavorings. Because of this, it is better to avoid them in favor of plain water.
