Lean semolina halva. Recipe
Have you ever tried halva made from... semolina? No? Then it's time to make it. This is a recipe from my childhood - my friend's mom always made semolina halva. However, her halva was made with cherry juice and walnuts, and my semolina halva is more modern - with coconut milk, passion fruit juice and pecans. However, any juice, nuts and dried fruits will do. The main thing about this halva is that it is lean!
YOU WILL NEED
- 250 grams of semolina
- 200 ml of coconut milk
- 50 ml of passion fruit juice (can be replaced with coconut milk or water)
- 50 grams of coconut oil
- 30 grams of white sugar (or cane sugar, honey, maple syrup)
- 50 grams of dried mango
- 50 grams of roasted pecans
- You can use any roasted nuts and candied fruits - raisins, dried apricots, dates, the weight should be 100 grams.
HOW TO MAKE IT?
Step 1
Heat the coconut oil in a frying pan, add the semolina, with constant stirring over a fire slightly above medium heat, fry the semolina for 3-5 minutes.
Step 2
Heat the passion fruit juice, dissolve the sugar in it, and combine it with the coconut milk. And pour it into the pan with the fried semolina.
Step 3
Remove from the heat. Add the fried chopped nuts and mango cut into small pieces.
Step 4
Stir, put the mass into a mold: it can be a portioned silicone mold (hemisphere) or just a bowl.
Step 5
Put it in the fridge for a few hours. Take it out and cut it.
