1. Jam in 12 minutes

Homemade jam

Ingredients:

  • Jostaberry - 500 g
  • Sugar - 500 g
  • Water - 100 ml

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the berries, tear off the antennae, and dry them.
  2. Make the syrup: pour water into a saucepan, add sugar, and bring to a boil, stir to dissolve the sugar completely.
  3. Add the berries to the boiling syrup, stir, and cook for about 3 minutes, then leave to cool.
  4. Then cook again for 3 minutes, cool, and repeat the procedure twice.
  5. Pour the finished jam hot into pre-sterilized jars, roll it up and turn it upside down, and wrap it in a warm towel or blanket.
  6. When the jars are completely cool, put them in a dark, cool place.

2. Jam without cooking

Ingredients:

  • Jostaberry - 500 g
  • Sugar - 500 g

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash the berries, sort them out, and tear off the tails.
  2. Put them in a blender, add sugar, and blend until smooth.
  3. Rub the puree through a sieve so that the seeds do not spoil the delicious jam.
  4. Put the mixture into containers and put it in the freezer.

3. Jelly from jostaberry

How to make homemade red currant jelly

Ingredients:

  • Jostaberry - 500 g
  • Sugar - 500 g
  • Water - 50-70 ml
  • Agar-agar.

Method of preparation:

  1. Wash and carefully sort the berries, and tear off the tails.
  2. Put them in a saucepan, cover with water, and cook for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Then strain the mixture through a sieve, and add sugar and agar-agar to the resulting juice.
  4. Cook for about 5 minutes over high heat, be sure to collect the foam.
  5. Then pour the hot mixture into jars, roll them up, and turn them upside down.
  6. Be sure to wrap them in a warm cloth, and after they have cooled completely, transfer them to a dark, cool place.
