Nutritionist Natalia Samoilenko told in Instagram, in what form you need to eat lard, so that it is most useful for the body.

The specialist noted that for people with normal health the permissible daily dose of cholesterol is 300 mg, and for survivors of heart attack or stroke - up to 200 mg. That is, eating 30 g of fat a day will not only not increase cholesterol levels, but on the contrary, will burn it.

"Lard is best consumed in salted or pickled form, because if it is fried or smoked it will no longer be good for your health," explained the nutritionist

Useful properties of lard:

1. It has a lot of vitamins and minerals, namely A, B1, B2, B3, B6, B12, D, as well as calcium, zinc, phosphorus, iron, magnesium, selenium.

2. omega-3 polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are so necessary for the formation of membranes around neurons and to counteract inflammatory processes.

3. Lard contains choline, which is a B-complex vitamin that is involved in metabolism.

4. Consumption of lard has a beneficial effect on blood vessels and cell membranes because it contains lecithin.

5. The product also contains arachidonic acid.

When it is best to eat lard

"Consume lard in the morning or at lunch, it is at this time, in addition to useful substances, the body will receive a powerful energy boost," - said the expert.

Who should give up lard

"If you have problems with cardiovascular disease, you need to give up salted lard, use in small quantities of fresh or fresh-frozen on the recommendation of your doctor," - summarized Natalia.
