How to prepare Italian flatbread focaccia
Italian flatbread or focaccia is a delicious alternative to classic bread. The base for the dish is made with water and yeast. You can choose sausage, cheese, tomatoes, spices, olives, or herbs for the filling.
The recipe for focaccia was shared by food blogger Anna (anny.cooking) on her Instagram page.
Ingredients:
- flour - 600 g
- dry yeast - 10 g
- salt - 10 g
- sugar - 10 g
- olive oil - 20 ml
- warm water - 450 ml
Method of preparation:
1. Sift the flour and mix it with the rest of the dry ingredients.
2. Add olive oil and warm water. Knead the dough. Cover with plastic wrap and leave for 1 hour.
3. Grease the mold with olive oil and spread the dough evenly. Brush with olive oil. Cover again with plastic wrap and leave to rise.
4. Prepare the filling.
5. Make small dimples in the focaccia with your fingers. Cover with foil and leave to rise for 10 minutes.
6. Add the filling and sprinkle with herbs.
7. Bake at 240 degrees for 25 minutes. Cool.
