How to make sea buckthorn jam: 2 easy ways
Sea buckthorn season is in the fall. This is when the body needs vitamins, which this product is rich in. The fruits can be stored on the tree until frost. These berries are very tasty for winter preparations, for making tea, or baking. The fruit has a slight sourness, pleasant color and flavor.

Sea buckthorn jam without cooking
Ingredients (For a 300 g container)
- Sea buckthorn - 250 g
- Granulated sugar - 150 g
Method of preparation:
- Rinse the berries well from debris and leaves, and cover with water.
- Pour into a bowl with high walls.
- Mash with a masher. This should be done very carefully because sea buckthorn is very juicy and can splash. You can cover it with a lid.
- Pour the finished sea buckthorn mass with granulated sugar, and mix very well.
- Put into prepared jars, and roll up.
- Leave in a cold place.
- This jam can be stored for up to 1 year.
Sea buckthorn jam with walnuts
- Sea buckthorn - 1 kg
- Sugar - 800 g
- Walnuts - 300 g
The method of preparation
1. Rinse the berries.
2. Cover with sugar, and leave for 1.5 hours.
3. Cook over medium heat to melt the sugar, and cool.
4. Chop the nuts or grind them with a blender not too finely.
5. Add to the sea buckthorn and cook for another 10 minutes.
6. Pour into sterilized jars.

For these drinks, dry leaves are mostly used.
