Homemade granola. Step by step recipe for cooking

Let's not lie: it will take you more than ten minutes to make granola, but the main advantage here is that you cook a lot at once, and thus you spend N-number of minutes cooking once, and then you don't worry about breakfast at all for the whole week: just pour it into a plate and eat it.

Another advantage of this dish is that you can play endlessly with the ingredients: you can take any seeds (sesame, pumpkin, sunflower, or some kind of mix) and nuts (walnuts, almonds, cashews, hazelnuts, and others), and when serving, season with yogurt or milk and any berries and fruits. Thus, you will have a completely new breakfast on your table every day.

You will need:

  • oatmeal - 3 tbsp.
  • seeds - 3 tbsp. 
  • nuts - 2 tbsp. 
  • dried berries - 2 tbsp. 
  • honey - 2 tbsp. 
  • oil - 1 tbsp.
  • cinnamon - optional
  • yogurt or milk - for serving
  • fresh berries and fruits - for serving

How to cook:

  1. Chop the nuts. Put in a deep bowl, and mix with oatmeal, seeds, and dried berries.
  2. Mix honey and oil in a separate bowl. Add cinnamon if desired.
  3. Pour the honey dressing over the dry mixture and mix well. The mixture will stick together in lumps that need to be broken up.
  4. Put the mixture on a baking sheet covered with parchment. Put in a 180-degree oven.
  5. Bake for 15-20 minutes, periodically removing from the oven and stirring. It is necessary to stir, otherwise it will burn.
  6. Cool the finished granola, put it in a jar with a tight lid, and store it in the refrigerator or in a dry place.
  7. Serve with milk or yogurt. Optionally, you can add chocolate, dried fruit, or any seasonal fresh fruit and berries.
