For soups and salads: flavorful onion bread that does not crumble
Bread is one of the most popular products that you can make yourself at home. If you experiment and add new ingredients to the dough, such as spices, garlic, or onions, you will get a completely unusual and delicious product.
Cook Maria Mykhalchenko shared a recipe for delicious and very flavorful bread with onions on her YouTube channel, which you will always want to cook (to watch the video, scroll to the end).
Ingredients:
- onions - 750 g
- milk - 300 ml
- eggs - 2 pcs.
- flour - 600 g
- sugar - 25 g
- pressed yeast - 50
- black pepper - 0.5 tsp.
- salt - 1 tsp.
- oil for frying, greasing hands, and molds
For the spread:
- milk - 1 tbsp.
- Eggs - 1 pc.
Method of preparation:
1. Peel and dice the onion and fry in vegetable oil until golden brown.
2. Dough: Pour hot milk into a bowl, add sugar and yeast, mash them well, and mix everything with a whisk to dissolve the yeast completely.
3. Add ground black pepper and salt and mix.
4. Then add 2 eggs to this mixture, whisk well again, and add half the flour, mix and add the other half of the flour, and knead the dough.
5. Shape the dough into a ball, put it in a bowl, cover with cling film or a towel, and leave it for 60 minutes to rise well.
6. Then add the fried onions to the dough and mix well, then set the dough aside in a warm place for 20 minutes to rise.
7. Grease the dough molds with vegetable oil.
8. Put the dough on a greased baking sheet, cut it in half, and shape it into bread with your hands.
9. Put the dough into the mold and leave it in a warm place again for 20-30 minutes to rise.
10. After that, brush the bread with a mixture of eggs and milk and put it in a preheated oven, making sure to put a baking sheet with water on the bottom for a water bath. Cook the bread at 180°C and bake for 5 minutes, then remove the water bath, reduce the temperature to 170°C, and bake the bread until done.
Let the finished bread cool completely, then take it out and cut it. It will be very tasty and flavorful and will not crumble.
