A spectacular and simple dessert that can be made with strawberries is a galette. It is extremely aesthetically pleasing because all the caramelized berries are on the surface. And the curd dough with butter is very crispy.

The idea of making a crispy galette with strawberries was published on the Instagram page of food blogger Olha with the nickname demi_kitchen. It takes no longer than 25 minutes to bake.

Ingredients for the dough:

  • flour - 150 g
  • egg - 1 pc
  • cottage cheese - 180 g
  • vanilla sugar - 5 g
  • butter - 70 g
  • baking powder - 1/4 tsp
  • salt - a pinch

Ingredients for the filling:

  • strawberries - 300 g
  • sugar - 2 tbsp
  • vanilla sugar - 1 tsp.
  • starch - 1 tbsp
  • lemon zest - optional
  • egg yolk - for greasing

Method of preparation:

1. Sift the flour, add the butter at room temperature and the rest of the ingredients.

2. Mix everything until smooth.

3. Put the dough in the refrigerator.

4. Slice the strawberries and add the remaining ingredients for the filling.

5. If the strawberries are very juicy, add a little more starch.

6. Mix everything.

7. Roll out the dough on the parchment, put the filling and roll up the edges of the biscuits. Brush them with egg yolk.

8. Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 20-25 minutes until golden brown.

9. Sprinkle with powdered sugar when serving.
