Crispy zucchini in ketchup: how to marinate your favorite vegetable

Pickled zucchini is a classic among appetizers for the winter, which is prepared by almost every hostess. This dish turns out to be very budget-friendly, tasty and perfect for meat, and for any other dish too.

Chef Liza Glinska in Instagram told a recipe for cooking zucchini, which is adored by her whole family. She adds ketchup to the marinade, which makes this appetizer just perfect.

Ingredients

  • Boiling water - 750 ml
  • Salt - 40 gr
  • Sugar - 80 gr
  • Vinegar - 80 ml
  • Mild ketchup - 50 gr
  • Chili ketchup - 50 g
  • Dill
  • Laurel leaf - 4 pcs
  • Black pepper peas - 15 pcs
  • Garlic - 4-5 cloves
  • Zucchini or zucchini - 1 kg

Method of preparation

1. Zucchini should be washed and cut into circles 1.5 cm thick.

2. Cut the dill in half.

3. Chop garlic.

4. Take two liter jars and put the ingredients in them: dill, garlic, bay leaf, pepper (peas) and zucchini.

5. Prepare the marinade. In boiling water add sugar and salt, stir to dissolve everything.

6. Add vinegar, ketchup and stir. The marinade is ready.

7. Pour hot marinade over zucchini.

8. Put the jars in pie bowls, the marinade may run out a little.

9. Leave the zucchini in the marinade at room temperature for two hours. After two hours, everything will be ready.

10. Then you can move the zucchini to the refrigerator and store for 1-2 weeks.
