Experts name a "fatal" mistake to avoid when pruning trees and bushes
Spring is the time when nature blossoms and various gardening activities begin. Pruning bushes and trees is one of the most important of them.
It is pruning that helps plants grow healthy, beautiful and bloom profusely. However, experts from the Express publication told us about the most common mistake that inexperienced gardeners often make.
The purpose of pruning is to remove dead, diseased or damaged branches to improve the appearance and health of the plant.
It may seem like an easy task, but there are many mistakes that will have a bad effect on your trees and shrubs. For example, cutting in the wrong place or pruning at the wrong time of year.
The most common and fatal mistake, however, is not pruning plants at all. Many people leave their gardens untouched for fear of doing something wrong, or simply forgetting about such an important stage of care.
Gardening expert Eleni Veroutsos said, "One of the most common mistakes people make is not pruning their plants at all. Although it may seem like extra work, pruning is important to make sure they are healthy and growing properly."
Consequences
This mistake can lead to an overgrown garden and trees that are too tall. In addition, plants will die much faster without pruning as excess shoots will not stimulate their growth.
However, you shouldn't prune trees and shrubs too much either. If you remove too many branches, it can permanently damage the plant, stop growth and make it weak and susceptible to disease.
