When and where to plant viburnum?

The best time to plant viburnum is in spring, before the leaf blades have fully opened, but you can also do it in the fall, the main thing is to be in time before the first frost.

For optimal development of the bush, neutral or slightly acidic soil is suitable. The pH level should be between 5.5 and 6.5.

Viburnum should be planted in a place well-lit by the sun or where there is partial shade. It is advisable that the bush is not near the house, because abundant watering can have a bad effect on the foundation.

How to plant viburnum?

For planting, 3-year-old viburnum seedlings are best suited.

After you have chosen a place to plant, you need to dig a hole 50 cm deep and 50 cm in diameter. If you plan to plant several bushes, there should be a distance of at least 3 meters between them.

Then mix the topsoil with a bucket of humus or peat and two glasses of nitrophoska and fill 2\3 of the hole with this mixture. Cover it all with 4 buckets of water and leave it for a few days.

After about a week, pour the rest of the soil mixture into the hole so that a hill is formed. This is where you need to place the bush. Next, you need to spread the roots, sprinkle them with earth, compact them, and water the plant abundantly. The root neck of the seedling should be buried 6 cm below the soil level.

After planting, it is recommended to mulch the viburnum with peat, compost or humus.
