How to quickly clean the toilet: a simple life hack with ice

It's all about the siphon that the toilet is equipped with. Like a sink or bathtub, it has this small device that automatically drains the water when it exceeds a certain set level. But the siphon only works with liquid water. If you turn it into solid ice, you can deceive the equipment.

Simply pour crushed ice into the toilet bowl until it fills the drain and blocks the water. Next, apply the product you use to clean this plumbing fixture to the walls and leave it to work. The coldness of the ice will also make the gel-like cleaners thicker and stick to the walls better.

When the required amount of time has elapsed, scrub the toilet with a brush and flush. The liquid water will partially melt the ice and push it into the pipe. Gradually, it will melt completely, so it will not cause any damage to the pipes. The main thing is not to use large pieces of ice and fragments with sharp edges during the cleaning process.

Another way to use ice to clean the toilet bowl is to turn the frozen water cubes into an abrasive to scrub the surface. Put on long enough gloves, plug the drain with a large sponge, and pour ice into the toilet bowl. Next, add the cleaning gel or powder and start mixing it with the ice by hand, rubbing the cubes on the sides of the bowl. The ice will act as a brush that will apply the product even under the rim of the toilet bowl.

When you are satisfied with the result, remove the sponge from the drain hole, rinse off the remaining cleaner, and wipe the toilet walls again with the same tool. Afterward, disinfect the gloves and sponge and use them only for cleaning the toilet in the future to prevent cross-contamination.
